Stoeffer's flatbread pizza, anime soundtracks, and deus ex machina

September 24, 2008

Stoeffer’s flatbread pizza for lunch. Not half bad! It’s more than half good in fact. The sauce is quite tangy, there’s enough spice, the pepperoni tastes like pepperoni.

Ahem, as I now listen to iTunes radio (found a great thing with Hindi music and some Anime soundtracks!)

Back to writing. Over the last couple of days I was able to work out how our protagonist gets back together with his wife. In the first two drafts (heck, I need to publish a treatment so you can read it) his wife disappears, and later they almost miraculously get back together! In theatrical terms this is called "deus ex machina" and it's a no no!

Well, what is our script about? It's called Unusual Business. It's a fish-out-of-water comedy. Here is the logline I picture in TV Guide.

"When a naïve exec is hired to franchise an investor’s favorite restaurant, he struggles to oust his nutty boss and win back his wrongly-jealous wife." ******

Those asterisks are six out of five stars! :)
